Spring around the corner, after quarantine!

Right before Covid-19 struck, Camila and I spent the day at the Lincoln Park Conservatory. Ahhhh my zen place. I'm such a plant and flower lover- we all need to stop and smell the flowers. Oh how I'm craving getting my hands in the dirt this May. My love for gardening came from my family's green thumb. My parents have a beautiful vegetable garden and abundant perennial bed and I also spent a lot of time on my grandparents farm in Northern Wisconsin. Home and love grows where you plant your seeds.

During the quarantine, I've had so much time to reflect on life. Realizing self-care doesn't usually come first. This time off has been a wonderful time to slow down and focus on the things that are most important. Time with family, enjoying the little things in life (fresh air), communication with friends and family and self-care. I've been enjoying taking more time going for long walks, meditating, practicing yoga, positive self-talk and self-love, cooking foods that are full of nutrients and eating to live vs living to eat. Don't get me wrong, I still love to indulge at times. When we spend too much time worrying about things we can't control or focusing on the future, we forget to enjoy the life that's happening right in front of us. Everyday I wake up and thank God for another day. I enjoy getting lost in the sunrise and sunsets, that cozy fire on a snowy night, curled up on the couch with your favorite throw and a hot cup of coffee, hugs and love from your family. When we start to focus on what we have instead of what we don't, you realize you have everything you need. I think it's time for us to all love ourselves a little more, wouldn't you agree?
